Why We Sweeten Our Soda with Fruit Juice

Real fruit flavor, just the right amount of sweetness, and no stevia or artificial sweeteners. Here's why we let fruit juice do the sweetening.

Good company and a cold can, wherever the day takes you.

When it comes to soda, sweetness usually gets all the attention. But we think there's a whole lot more to a good soda than how sweet it is.

That's why we make Culture Pop a little differently. Instead of using refined sugar, stevia, monk fruit, or artificial sweeteners, we get our sweetness from fruit juice from concentrate.

Because when you start with real ingredients, you don't need to cover them up.

Why fruit juice?

Simple. We think fruit tastes pretty great on its own. Fruit juice brings more than sweetness to the table. It brings flavor, too. The brightness of citrus, the tartness of berries, the juicy goodness of tropical fruits. All those little things that make a sip taste like something worth sipping.

At Culture Pop, we use organic fruit juices from concentrate as the foundation for our sodas. Then we layer in complementary herbs and spices to create flavors that are familiar, with a little something unexpected.

The result? A soda that's fruit-forward, full of flavor, and refreshingly not too sweet.

Sweetness shouldn't do all the work

A lot of sodas rely on added sweeteners to create their signature taste. And hey, everyone has their preferences. But our approach is different.

We want you to actually taste the ingredients in your soda. Not just sweetness. Think tart lime paired with juicy watermelon. Or bright orange and mango with a subtle kick of chili. Each ingredient has something to bring to the party.

By relying on fruit juice for sweetness, we can let those flavors do their thing without turning the sweetness all the way up.

Our philosophy: Sweetness in moderation. Flavor in full.

What about fruit juice from concentrate?

Glad you asked. Fruit juice from concentrate is real fruit juice that's gone through a process to remove some of its water. The concentrated juice can then be used as an ingredient in foods and drinks, including soda.

And yes, it's still fruit juice.

We choose fruit juice from concentrate because it gives us a way to build the fruity flavor and sweetness we want in every can.

One important thing to know: fruit juice naturally contains sugar, and sugar from juice concentrates may count as added sugar under certain labeling rules. That's why the Nutrition Facts panel is always the best place to check the sugar content of a particular drink.

A little less sweet. A lot more interesting.

We didn't set out to make soda taste like a compromise. We set out to make soda taste really, really good. That means real fruit juice, thoughtful flavor combinations, live probiotics, and absolutely no stevia or artificial sweeteners. Not because sweetness is bad. Because we believe there's more to soda than sweetness alone.
